Welcome to Mariupol

Smoke pouring out of this smoke stack was the first thing I saw in Mariupol.

I Got Schooled by Old Guys

Recently I was invited to go play football (soccer) with my neighbor, who is like 70 years old. I really haven't had the desire, but somehow I agreed to go today. While I wasn't looking forward to going, I did enjoy myself. There were a total of 8 of us, and I was the second to youngest there and the most inexperienced. I know tomorrow I will really sore!

One thing that was interesting is that everybody showed up at the park in their normal clothes, and then just changed into their football clothes at the park. It didn't seem to bother any of them that there was a young girl nearby exercising. Another interesting thing is that my neighbor has been doing this twice a week for the past 40 years.

In the pictures (which are really bad quality), my neighbor is the one on the far right wearing the white hat. His name is Alexander.

Prayer for Ukraine

A while back I posted a video of the LCU chorus singing the song, "Prayer for Ukraine." It is a beautiful song and a powerful song. I found another video online of a group of children from Kiev singing the song and wanted to share it with you. Below are the lyrics in Ukrainian.

Життя за людей віддав;
В книгу життя нас записав.
В Своєму слові живому
Ти для життя веління дав,
Щоб люди всі молились Тому,
Хто на хресті за них вмирав.

Sand Sculptures in Kharkov

Just a couple of days ago our family walked to the big square in the center of Kharkov to see this amazing display. We love how there seems to always be something going on in the center of the city. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Getting Over Jetlag (Photos)

Here is what the team had in mind to help us stay awake tonight. We had a great time eating at the food court in the mall and then bowling for an hour. I hope we can get some good sleep tonight. Glad to be home and with our team.
